Charlotte Ann (Bridgewater) West, 76, of Seeley Lake, Montana passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Patrick Hospital, of heart failure.
Charlotte was born August 22, 1940 in Livingston, Montana to Gerald Bridgewater and Delores Miller Bridgewater. She graduated from Park County High School in Livingston and married Jon Guy West on July 7, 1959. Early in their marriage, Charlotte and Jon lived in Glasgow and Circle. They settled in Fort Benton, Montana from 1968 to 1988. During that time, Charlotte worked at First Security Bank and the Chouteau County Courthouse. In 1988, they moved to Palmer, Alaska and then finished their careers in Bozeman, Montana. There, she worked at the MSU Registrar’s office. In 1993, they retired and settled in Seeley Lake, Montana. Charlotte was a member of the Mountain Lakes Presbyterian Church for over 20 years. She was very active in the Women's Ministry, and she served regularly as a Deacon. Every 4th of July, she made chocolate peanut clusters for the Bake Sale Fundraiser that helped local people in need. In addition, she loved the Senior Center. She would take the time to really get to know people, reaching out to those who were lonely and isolated. She was also supportive of Jon’s hobby of bird carving, decorative gourds, and jewelry. They shared his work at art shows both locally and across the state. She was an avid cook making sure that nobody went hungry should they stop and visit. No matter the function or location, she would always greet people with warmth and joy. She touched so many people. Her smile, spunky kindness, hospitality, and gift of gab will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Jon, her two sons and their families, Guy West of San Diego, CA, wife Olga Erickson West, grandchildren Holly and Cooper and Kelly West of Pleasant Hill, CA, wife Tina Brennen West, granddaughter Easton, and Kaydee Parsons, her granddaughter in law, as well as her sisters Gayle Cooke of Great Falls, MT and Janet Haagenson of Billings, MT, and their families as well as many relatives.
A celebration ceremony of Charlotte’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 1st at 575 Overland Trail Drive, Seeley Lake, Montana, her home for the last 25 years, and a place that she truly loved. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions in her name can be made to the Mountain Lakes Presbyterian Church of Seeley Lake or the Senior Center of Seeley Lake. You may send condolences to Box 924, Seeley Lake, MT 59868.
