CHARLIE LYNN CHRISTMAN
“MINERS NEVER DIE, WE JUST DRIFT AWAY.”
Charlie Lynn Christman, 45, of DeBorgia, MT, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022, at his home.
Charlie was born April 7, 1977, to David and Sue Christman. As a young boy he lived with his family in Kellogg, ID and attended Kellogg Public Schools. While in High School he was involved with wrestling, football, dirt bike/ATV riding and general raising hell. Charlie then went on to pursue a career in mining.
On June 11, 2016, he married Emma, in a helicopter over Niagara Falls. They lived in Cataldo, ID until 2020 when they settled in DeBorgia, MT.
Charlie was a full-time miner, which he excelled at. He travelled to many countries over his career. Often proclaiming no type of ground, he couldn’t break or hasn’t touched. If there was a question to be answered or an underground problem to be solved, he was the man to go to. He loved his mining family.
Charlie loved the woods, boating, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He loved his riding trips with his wife and dogs. He loved spending time on his property fixing stuff or just walking around his woods, finding his next big idea or wood stash. His wife often called him a wood hoarder as he would daydream and gaze at the various wood types in the forest, sometimes while driving.
He had a lot of fun and crazy times over the years. He had an amazing heart and soul that touched everyone he was around. He absolutely loved spending time with the kids in his life or just met, always being referred to as “Uncle Charlie” whether you knew him your whole life or just a few minutes.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents. Numerous aunts and uncles. Many mining brothers. His nephew, Austin.
He is survived by his wife, Emma, DeBorgia, MT. His son, Jacob, Elko, NV. His father, David, Silver Valley, ID. His mother, Sue, Ashton, SD. His older brother, Bill, Ashton, SD. His sister, Amy, Aberdeen, SD. His younger brother, Brian (Stephanie), Ashton, SD. As well as many nieces and nephews who he loved with all his heart.
