Charles Lindberg Wutsch, 88, passed away on Friday, January 22 in his home in Missoula. Charlie was born on June 11, 1927 in Garfield New Jersey. September 1951 he married Felicia Sarubbi, together they raised their three boys. Charlie worked in construction, as a pipe coverer, owned his own flooring business, was an active scoutmaster, and loved the outdoors.
In 1974 Charlie and Felicia moved their family to Missoula. He retired as the head engineer of Big Sky High School in 1992. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling with Felicia in their motorhome.
Charlie is a veteran, Seaman First Class USNR. He was an active member of the East Missoula Lions Club, volunteered at St. Patrick's Hospital for fourteen years, and a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish.
Charlie lived his life with passion and exuberance. He was a man of integrity, honesty, and "told it like it was". He lived his life on a handshake and his word. Charlie's faith could move mountains, he had the willpower of an ox, the stubbornness of a mule, and the courage of a lion. He was a straight-shooting, give you the shirt off his back, all around good guy. He loved doing anything in the outdoors with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Felicia, three sons, Anthony, Albert and wife Sandra, Charles Jr. and wife Christine. He has five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Services will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:30am followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to "The International Heart Institute of Montana Foundation" 500 West Broadway, Suite 320 Missoula, MT 59802 406-329-5615 Condolences for the family may be left at www.missoulafuneralhomes.com
