MISSOULA - Charles Francis Mosley Jr., beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away May 25, 2009, in a tree-falling accident while working in the woods.
He was born January. 1. 1936, in Aurora, Ill. He attended Lincoln Hill Grade School and West High School. He was a self-taught man. He first worked in construction and later started several of his own businesses. He also built several of his own family’s homes. He was know as the “Furniture Doctor” for more than 40 years, restoring many a person’s furniture, from the Midwest to Montana. He was a fine woodworker and a true craftsman, and worked for many of the major moving companies.
Hunting trips to eastern Montana influenced him, in 1973, to pack up his family and move here as fast as he could. He loved hunting and fishing with his wife and family, and riding his Gold Wing. But his favorite thing was helping his children and grandchildren with their special projects, such as building toys, furniture and their homes. And he truly loved family gatherings.
Chuck was preceded in death by his infant son Thomas James, brother Edward, brother-in-law Joseph Casey, nephew Joseph “Sam” Hernandez and his parents Charles and Elizabeth Mosley Sr.
Chuck is survived by his wife Merita of 53 years at the family home; daughters, Cindy (Ken) Wisherd and Mary Reichenburger (Ole) Belsby; sons Charles F. (Apon) Mosley III and Michael (Lori) Mosley; grandchildren Jason and Staci Wisherd, Amos Wisherd (Louise), William Reichenburger, Elizabeth “Peaches” Reichenburger and Charla “Charlie” Mosley; sisters Charlene Hernandez Rodriguez of Texas and Carol Casey of Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
All friends and family are invited to a day of memory noon-4 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at the family home for a potluck lunch and celebrating his life.
