Obituary for Charles P. Graham

Charles was born March 14, 1931, one of eight children of Mike and Agnes Graham in Roundup. He grew up in this community, going to school there, graduating from high school in 1949 as class president.

He gradually moved to Lavina, where he farmed for his father and raised Black Angus cattle.

In 1953, he met and married Bonnie Minthorn of Kalispell. They lived most of their lives in Missoula, where they owned land in Miller Creek.

Charlie worked for Northern Pacific and Burlington Northern Railroad as a switchman and brakeman, and was a part-time farmer and rancher.

He had Black Angus cattle, which he was very fond of until cancer in his life caused him to dispose of his cattle.

Charlie and Bonnie loved to travel, which they did for many years while belonging to Friendship Force.

He spent two years in the Army, part of that in Korea. After the Army, he attended and graduated from the University of Montana.

He passed away from us on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, as a result of natural causes at the age of 82.

He is survived by wife of 60 years, Bonnie; daughters, Marina and Gwen; son, Rod and families; also five grandsons and one great-grandson and his beloved dog, Tipper. Several nieces and nephews and their families also are surviving.

Services will be Monday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. at Garden City Funeral Home in Missoula.
