ANACONDA – After fighting several health issues, Charles Gessele, 70, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July 3, 2013.
Charlie was born in Anaconda to Emil and Viola "Dolly" (Saltenberger) Gessele on Nov. 15, 1942. He graduated in 1961 from Anaconda High School and pursued his goal of becoming a plumber. After working at various local shops, he worked at Galen State Hospital. An accident forced him to retire in 1992. A loving husband, father and friend, he loved the outdoors, his work with the Boy Scouts, building antique cars, Hot Wheels collecting, his dogs and reading. He married Paulette "Polly" Frazer on June 12, 1966.
Survivors include his wife, Polly of Anaconda; son, Frank of Missoula; a special son, Steve Peters of Philipsburg; aunt, Gladys Gessele of Anaconda; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Jefferson and Winifred Frazer; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
As per his wishes, there will be no services. He asked that any memorials be sent to Daughters of the Nile Tirzah Temple No. 3, c/o Debra Sullivan, 648 Dakota Ave., Missoula, MT 59802-5505, or the Shriners' Hospital for Children.
