– Charleen Ireland, 87, of Missoula passed away Friday, March 13, 2015, at the Beehive Homes of natural causes.
She was born on April 17, 1927, in Twin Bridges to Charles and Blanche Watts. She was the youngest of four children. She and her family lived on a small ranch and attended grade school in Whitehall. Later, they moved to Butte, where she graduated from Butte High School. From there, she got her nursing degree from St. James School of Nursing.
On Aug. 8, 1948, she married the love of her life, Donald Ireland, in Butte. The following year, their only child, Gregg, was born. They lived in Butte until they moved to Missoula in 1963. There, she resumed her nursing career at Community Hospital until she retired in 1990.
Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling after retirement. They spent many summers at Seeley Lake. In 1990, they became snowbirds and spent many great years in Green Valley, Arizona.
A loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma, she took great care of her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Gene, Buck and Lee Watts; and her husband, Don in June 2008.
Survivors include her son, Gregg (Cathy) Ireland of Missoula; grandson, Patrick; granddaughters, Robyn, Angie and Casey; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Connor; and nephews, Dan (Bev), Tom (Gay), Don (Marsha) Watts.
Per my mom's request, no services are planned at this time. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Burial will be with her husband at the Missoula State Veterans Cemetery.
