SUPERIOR – Chad Clifton Haskins was born in Superior on Oct. 17, 1977, to Tim and Anna Haskins and passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.
Chad was an extraordinary man and was loved and admired by all who knew him. He loved his family and friends unconditionally, and strived to ensure their comfort and happiness. He was the most selfless person you could ever meet. Chad was a very strong person, yet he never hurt anyone. His greatest joys in life were his son Thad and his loving family.
He was an excellent mechanic and troubleshooter. He worked in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., performing maintenance on the locks. He worked as a logger and his last job was a mechanic for Stillwater Mining Co. He also was a pyrotechnician, which he enjoyed immensely.
He enjoyed spending precious time with his loved ones at the Gildersleeve Mine and he spent much of his childhood there with his great-grandparents George and Fern Gildersleeve and his grandparents Louie and Gloria Weaver. He learned how to weld from Grandpa Louie and had his own welding helmet at the age of 4. Chad had a thirst for challenges and adventure throughout his life. He was always out and about, finding new and exciting things to do and explore. He was successful at everything he did in life, and he was greatly appreciated by all. His son, Thadus Clifton Haskins, is a spitting image of him, and enjoyed many adventures with his father. Chad loved him more than life itself, and he supported Thad in everything he did. He was an enthusiastic Griz fan, and loved playing high school football.
Chad Haskins lived his life to the fullest, and wanted nothing more out of life than to love and be loved. He will be greatly missed, and most certainly never forgotten.
Services will be announced at a later date.
