Cathie L. Schmiedeke

Cathie Lynn Schmiedeke, 68, of Missoula, passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at home with her family.

She was born July 21, 1946, in Missoula. Cathie graduated from Sentinel High School in 1964, then graduated from the vo-tech shortly after as a paralegal. She had a passion for travel and photography. Cathie lived in Italy, Arizona, Central America and Mexico. She then settled in Missoula and worked as a photographer for a number of years. She spent the later years of her life being a loving grandmother to her two granddaughters, Danika and Harper, and working at Opportunity Resources, a job she loved.

Survivors include her daughter, Desiree Knieper; son in-law, Allen Knieper; granddaughters, Danika and Harper Knieper; sister, Marcy Speiser; brother in-law, Fred Speiser, and their family.

A service will be held at

11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Garden City Funeral Home.
