Carolyn “June” Spillers, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2023. June passed away peacefully, surrounded by her four daughters.
June was born on February 19, 1936 in Russellville, Arkansas to Elmer Parnell and Doyle Estelle Bartlett. On July 12, 1954 June married Charles Spillers in Russellville. Shortly after, they moved to the Pacific NW where they raised their daughters. June is a long-time resident of Missoula, moving there in 1973 from Boise, Idaho. She worked for Mountain Bell as an operator for over 30 years, retiring in 1991. Her time was filled with supporting her growing family and blessing them with her generous hospitality. June loved studying the Bible – whether it was by listening to the Grace to You broadcast, or attending Bible Study Fellowship. She spoke often of her love for God and the desire she had that everyone she knew would know Him. “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself.” (Job 19:25-27a)
June was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Parnell and Doyle Estelle Parnell, infant daughter, Sherri Lynn Spillers, and her former husband, Charles Spillers.
She is survived by her sisters: Betty Harris and Susan Gardiner; four daughters and their spouses: Kim Kallis and Jeff Smith, Sue and George Baché, Stephanie and Rico Salvino, and Gretchen and Dennis Nelson; eleven grandchildren: Carrie Kerzman, Eric Kallis, Brittany McKenzie, Chanelle Julian, Kirstie Wood, Josh Salvino, Moriah Coons, Shekinah Nelson, Sarah Bacon, Malachi Nelson, and Jeremiah Nelson; twelve great-grandchildren: Zachary Kerzman, Cassidy Kerzman, Kayla Kallis, Oscar Kallis, Brayden Julian, Aaron McKenzie, Bennett McKenzie, Blakely Salvino, Kayce Bacon, Easton Wood, Baby Salvino (due 2/14/24), and Baby Bacon (due 2/25/24).
