In Loving Memory of Carolyn Ann "Middy" Roullier
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Ann "Middy" Roullier, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Middy peacefully departed this world on December 29, 2023, at her residence in Missoula, Montana, at the age of 83, surrounded by her family.
Middy was born on February 1, 1940, in the small, close-knit community of Anaconda, Montana. She was the loving daughter of Daniel Creaney and Mary Metcalf. She attended Anaconda Central High School. After she married, she moved to Missoula, but remained loyal to her roots and her fondness for Anaconda remained.
She made her home in Missoula, raising her three children with her husband of 61 years. She helped out in school, cub scouts and girl scouts before going back to work full-time for the USFA, at the Forestry Sciences Lab at the University.
Middy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid reader and filled every bookcase, nook, and cranny in her home with finds from Goodwill. She sent boxes of books to her children and sister in different states. She cherished the company of her friends, walking daily for exercise was her chance to spend time with them, sharing stories, and creating precious memories. Middy also had a passion for football----whether it be watching her grandson play in the NFL or watching the Grizzlies. She also loved Lady Griz basketball, which she attended with unmatched enthusiasm and unwavering support.
Middy will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her adoring family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Mary Creaney, as well as her sisters MaryBeth and Peggy.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Richard "Dick" Roullier, her daughter, Suzanne Rodrigue (Peter) of Augusta Maine, her sons Scott Roullier (Theresa) of Missoula and Mark (DeeAnn) of Savage, Minnesota, her sister Rosie Robinson (Kent) and her cousin Carolyn Gorshe of Helena, Montana. Additional survivors include five grandchildren: Tiffany (Branden), Todd, Brienne (Josh), Chase (Sarah) and Jack as well as five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In honoring Carolyn's wishes, a private cremation will take place. A memorial service to celebrate her beautiful life will be held at Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, January 10th at 1 pm.
Middy will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family. Her memory will forever echo in the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have known her.
