Obituary for Carole A. Lovell (Dobak)

July 10, 2013 12:00 am(0) SignaturesHUSON – Carole A. (Dobak) Lovell passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Huson.

She was born in Ortonville, Minn., on Jan. 4, 1940, to Lt. Col. Raynold S. Dobak and Marjorie Dobak. She was proud of the fact that she was an "Army brat" and traveled to many bases, including Fort Missoula.

Carole married her soul mate, Jack Lovell, on Feb. 14, 1960, in Missoula. They were inseparable and rarely spent more than a few days apart during their 53 years of marriage. Together they raised four children, Jami, Jace, Frank and Kelly.

The family moved to Huson in 1980. "Mom" could usually be found happily humming or whistling a tune as she tended to her beautiful garden. Her favorite times were family barbecues and camping trips. She loved big get-togethers on birthdays and holidays. She enjoyed yearly trips to Westport, Wash., to visit her dad. Her whole family enjoyed fishing, crabbing, canning tuna and playing cards with "Grandpa Ray." She was the most loving mother anybody could imagine.

Mom and Dad started snowbirding in 2000 in their motorhome. Mom always dreamed of someday having her own swimming pool, and got her wish when Dad built her a beautiful home on a golf course in Wellton, Ariz.

In 2007, the family found a spot on Noxon Reservoir with room for all the families. Mom loved boating and campfire gatherings. This is where Mom spent her last Fourth of July.

We can't put into words how much Mom enjoyed her big family. She was very close with her brothers and sisters and their families. She was so proud of all her children and grandkids.

In Mom's final year, she knew her time was short. She made sure her goodbyes and goodnights involved a long embrace, a kiss and a deep-hearted "I love you." (We love you more, Mom!) A special thank you to son Frank for an exceptional year of care taking and love. Thank you to Partners Hospice, Norco and Hospice of Yuma for their great care. Thank you to all the friends who brought meals and gave Mom and our family so much love and support over the past year.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Marjorie Dobak; brother, Tommy; and grandson, Brandon.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jack; brothers, Jim (Bev) Dobak and John Dobak; sisters, Pattie (Fred) Raunig and Jane (Dick) Nielsen; her children, Jami (Dennis) Iddings, Jace (Gerri) Lovell, Frank Lovell and Kelly (Dan) Sullivan; grandchildren, Tyler (Bryanne) Iddings, Cody (Emilee) Iddings and Jordan Iddings, Blaine Lovell, Lacey Lovell and Brady (Miranda) Sullivan; and great-grandchildren, Alexa and Peyton Iddings, Jaxson and Jadyn Iddings, Brooke Jessop, Kali Iddings and Paisley Sullivan. She also is survived by a large extended family and loving friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July, 12 at Garden City Funeral Home, 1705 W. Broadway, Missoula.

Memorials can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or any veterans charity of the donor's choice.
