Carol Elaine Momot, 82, of Missoula, Montana, passed away on Wednesday, May 21st, 2014 at St. Patricks Hospital of natural causes. She was surrounded by family.
She was born on April 17th, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York, to John and Evelyn Martin. She was raised in New Jersey and met and married Frank J. Momot there in 1952. They raised their family there and in 1974 they moved to Orange County, California. They enjoyed sailing, traveling and great friends. After they both retired, they moved to Missoula, Montana to be near their daughter, Deborah Momot Brown. They loved Missoula and being near family. They made many great friends.
Carol loved to be involved in things. She joined Newcomers, belonged to a dinner group for many years, volunteered at St. Patrick's Hospital for 17 years, was a member of PEO, and was an avid bridge player. She also enjoyed fun activities with her family and friends. She adored her children and grandchildren. Despite continued health issues, she always remained positive, active and enjoyed every day. She was an inspiration to many.
Carol was predeceased on March 4, 2011, by her husband of 62 years, Frank J. Momot.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Momot Brown of Missoula and Deborah's husband Jeff and daughter Abby; and her son John Momot of Yorba Linda, California, and John's wife Marie and three daughters Genevieve, Jacqueline and Madelaine; and her sister Patricia Hunt of Strasburg, Pennsylvania.
The Celebration of Life Ceremony and reception will be held on Tuesday, May 27th at 3:00 at Garden City Funeral Home.
