Obituary for Carli M. Miller

Carli Mckenna Miller, 8, of Lolo passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born on February 19, 2009 in Missoula to Perry and Tara Miller. Carli was to enter the 3rd grade at Lolo Elementary School. Carli loved her teachers and her school work but most importantly all of her friends.
Carli was beautiful on the outside and stunning on the inside. She was spirited, sweet, kind, and loving. She was full of energy and was rarely found on the couch. She was born with her mother’s thick brown hair and her father’s specially placed dimples. Her infectious smile comforted everyone around her. She had a kind heart and was a friend to all. She was a nurturer of animals, stuffed (48) as well as real and had a special affection for horses. Carli preferred being outside and enjoyed fishing, shooting, and camping with her family. Her favorite times were spent at Noxon with the pirates. Carli called huckleberry picking, huckleberry eating and usually returned with the smallest bag.
At a sleepover with her monkey and her mimi, Carli was invited to church by her good friend Taelor. She attended the next morning and fell in love with Jesus and the teaching of the bible. Carli set her alarm, got herself ready and waited on the sidewalk for the church van to pick her up for Sunday school. Returning home to teach her family the days lessons, songs and her doughnut of choice. Her “did you knows” brought the family closer together. Her faith is helping friends and family find answers in this challenging time.
Carli was known by many names, Carl being the most common. Her father assigned her “Baby Goose”. She also answered to Bean, Carlos and Carlos Santana. She eagerly responded to the dinner bell when shrimp and bacon mushroom carbonara were on the menu. She was as comfortable in a pink princess dress and heels as she was in camo and cowboy boots.
Carli was full of questions, but more freely offered advice. In an attempt to help her sister get her driver’s license, she tried to convince her mother that reaching 40 meant that she was too old to drive. Following in her father’s footsteps she planned on becoming a “plumma”. She loved to help her dad fix leaky pipes and dripping faucets. Always holding a tool and telling him the right way to do it. She liked to spend time gardening and considered herself keeper of the neighborhood lady bugs. Taking the time to place one on each plant in the garden.
She had a special bond from the beginning with Kaden, her older brother, best friend, and confidant. There were often times where she also acted as his body guard. She greatly admired her sister Kyla, and kept a close eye on her in whatever she did.
Carli is survived by her parents Perry and Tara Miller, siblings Kyla Miller and Kaden Miller; Great Grandparents Jim and Mary Lou Miller; Grandparents Larry and Fay Sloan, Melanie (Kevin Lackey) Miller, and John (Mandy) Love; aunts and uncles Nikki (Scott) Smith, Sasha Sloan (Alex Redfern), Cory (Jamie) Miller, Charli (Beau) Clark, Jacob Love, Jessica (Andrew) Rolin and Hannah Nyrop; and 12 cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Lolo Community Church, 11897 Lewis and Clark Dr. followed by interment at Florence Carlton Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment back at the church.
