– Carlene Rector, 88, of Missoula, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, after a long struggle with dementia.
Carlene was born April 27, 1927, in Braman, Oklahoma, where she lived until moving to Wichita, Kansas, to attend college. There she met Glen, her husband for 60 years.
After two years of marriage and a baby, they all moved to Denver for a better job for Glen and because Carlene was in love with Colorado and the adventure.
Carlene and Glen moved to Missoula in 2000 to be closer to their son and to join the active senior community in Missoula. Upon their arrival, they instantly made many new friends. Glen passed in 2006. Carlene resided at the Lynwood Condominiums, Hunter's Glen Assisted Living, and finally the Village Health Care Center, all in Missoula.
Carlene is survived by her son J. D. and his wife Patty. The family will hold a private memorial service. Those who wish to remember Carlene are invited to contribute to the Missoula Senior Citizens Center, 705 S. Higgins, Missoula, MT 59801.
