Bonnie Olsgaard died surrounded by family at her home in Missoula, Montana on September 19, 2023. She leaves behind a legacy of twenty-five years in ministry to the Lutheran Church, a love of music, and fond memories from family and her many friends.
She was born on Victory in Europe Day, May 8, 1945, in Maddock, North Dakota, to Sigurd Torgerson and Alma Torgerson. That evening in church, as bells rang out above to celebrate the end of war in Europe, her young sister stood and announced to all that she had a new baby sister.
Bonnie grew up in McVille, North Dakota, and attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. From an early age, she was acknowledged for her exceptional and beautiful piano and organ performances. She was an organist at St. Paul Lutheran Church for more than forty-seven years.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of sixty years Orin Olsgaard, her children Paul, Rachel, and Ingrid, and her granddaughter Chloe. A. memorial service will be announced at a later date.
