MISSOULA - Blanche S. Stringer, 76, passed away Wednesday, January. 7, 2009, at Evergreen Assisted Living Facility of natural causes.
Blanche was born November. 9, 1932, in Ellijay, Ga., to Thomas and Martha Ann (Dotson) Sanford.
She worked in carpet mills in Georgia. One daughter, Ann, was born to her in 1953, and she was married to Herbert Watkins. Blanche enjoyed fishing, working her puzzles and gardening. She loved anything with chocolate.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Nancy Crump, Goldie Osburne and Buren Tuggel; twin brother, Bob Sanford; and brothers, Lawrence and Jerry Sanford. She is survived by sister, China Davenport; brother, T.B. Sanford of Ellijay; daughter, Ann (Mike) Stroh of Missoula; grandchildren, Shane (Patricia) Ellis and children of Ellijay, Mark Ellis and children of Rome, Ga., Sharon (Jeff) Bearden and children of Commerce City, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January. 13, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, January. 14, with funeral services to start at 2 p.m. The Rev. Tom King will officiate the funeral services. Burial will take place immediately after the funeral with a reception to follow in the funeral home’s community room.
