Billy Cleveland

September 12, 1964 — August 13, 2024

Billy Cleveland, lovingly known as Log Dog, passed away on August 13, 2024 in Missoula, Montana, at the age of 59. Born on September 12, 1964, in Cottage Grove, Oregon, Billy was a hard-working and generous man who had a deep love for his family and friends.

Billy served his country honorably in the Army, where he was part of the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne). His dedication to service exemplified his commitment and strength, traits that carried over into everything he did in life.

An avid enthusiast of nature, Billy found solace in fishing and camping, always accompanied by his infectious laughter and warm smile. He had a passion for mushroom hunting and also collecting beautiful china and glassware. These hobbies brought him joy, but it was the time spent outdoors with family and friends that truly filled his heart.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Anne Cleveland; his son, Billy Cleveland II; his daughters, Sarah Knight, Tiffany Cleveland, and Crystal Cleveland; and his son-in-law, Sam Hammell. He is also remembered by his sisters, Darlene Logan, Denise Cleveland, Brenda Gonzales, Kymberli Greget, and Kristy Cleveland, along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris "Dee" Maughan, and father, Lawrence "Boone" Cleveland. He was also welcomed by his sisters Nancy St. Martin, Bonnie Little, Arlene Davis, Linda Newman, his best friend Mugsy the Pugsy, who undoubtedly greeted him at the gates of eternity with wagging joy.

Billy Cleveland's spirit and love for life will continue to be remembered by all those who were fortunate to know him.
