Billie L. DeMarois

Billie L. Demarois passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014. She was born Billie I. Erwin on Nov. 26, 1928, in Bozeman. Her family moved to Solvang, Calif., when she was 4 years old. She returned to Montana to attend college at the University of Montana in Missoula. While attending college she met her one and only love, Bob Demarois , and they were married on July 28, 1948. They moved to Sacramento, Calif., for a short time but determined that Montana was their home and returned to Missoula.

Billie wore many hats – a mother to six children, a supportive wife and working partner in the automobile dealership. Billie's strength and bright attitude played a major role in the raising of her children and working alongside her husband. She continued her support and leadership in the dealership after Bob's passing and did not hesitate to offer her opinion and guidance in the day-to-day running of the business.

Her children and those who knew her greatly admired her enthusiasm in life and the strong role she held in our family. All of her children, their spouses and her grandchildren were with her in her remaining days, a true example of the love and respect she brought out in her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Clark Erwin and Ella L. Erwin; her daughter-in-law Laurie Caras Demarois; her brother Clark Erwin and her husband Robert G. Demarois.

Those who will miss her greatly are her sons, Rob (wife Marie, children Hailey and Ben), Jack and his friend Heather, Joe (wife Jane, children Jessica, Betsy, and Meri), Lew (wife Lori, children Brenna and Wil); daughter, Susan Anderson (children McHale and Katie), Deb Parker (husband Kevin, children Stevi and Maddi) and of course many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Finally, her daily companion, her wonderful boxer, Griz.

A gathering will be held at a later date in honor of both Billie and Bob.
