Betty left this world from natural causes March 2, 2015 at Village Health Care Center. She was born to Clarence and Alice Overholtzer on May 12, 1933. Betty had two brothers Richard and Stanley. Alice and her children moved to the Bitterroot Valley near the Lee Metcalf area. She graduated from Stevensville high school. She received her nursing degree from Great Falls. Betty worked at the old Community Hospital downtown and at St. Patrick Hospital as an emergency room supervisor. Then she moved to the new Community Hospital as a surgical nurse.
She married Leo Hansen in 1972 and moved to the ranch in Florence with his seven children, Susie, Patty, Tsoni, JC, Barbara, Leo and Cindy with whom she shared a birthday. She was actively involved in the EMT Program for the Florence Fire Volunteer Program. After Leo passed, she was more involved with the LDS church. Betty went on a two-year mission to Salt Lake City, where she researched Genealogy for both the church and her family, a project that she loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Stanley and her aunt and uncle Harriet & Clarence Hagen.
She is survived by her brother Richard (Maybelle) Overholtzer and their children, along with her seven step-children with Leo and their families. She had 18 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Many many nieces and nephews too numerous to name.
