Bernice “Bunny” Maurer Mobley
Bunny Mobley, 81, of Billings and Missoula, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at her home of natural causes.

She was born in Great Falls to Chris and Anna Maurer. Her brother, Earl, gave her the nickname “Bunny” when she was a baby. Her family made their home near Ulm and later moved to Great Falls.

Bunny married Ted Riemann on September 4, 1959. Bunny and Ted had a lot of fun in life, especially with his large family, whom Bunny was very close to. They had two children, Kyle and Tracy, who were the light of their life. Unfortunately, Ted passed away in March 1968. Bunny was devastated by this loss.

Bunny married Herb Mobley in 1969. She moved to the ranch in Ashland MT with her kids and embraced the country. Bunny was an accomplished seamstress, and could sew or repair just about anything that was needed. She enjoyed and excelled in cooking and baking, but especially in pie making. Her son-in-law didn’t care if the pie even had filling, he just loved her crust! Bunny was the ultimate hostess, making sure that everyone entering her home was welcomed, offered delicious food and comfortable surroundings.

Bunny was a bookkeeper, first for Northwest Pipe in Billings, and later for the ranch corporation. She was the Secretary for the Tongue River Water Users Association for many years, a school board member for Ashland Public School, and a member of PEO. Bunny was active in her community, from bowling league to bridge clubs, 4-H, school activities and sports. She cherished her friends from that area, even after she divorced and moved to Billings.

Bunny’s passion was her family. Her kids and grandkids were her life, and she spent as much time with each one as she could.

Survivors include her son Kyle (Tamara), Bozeman; daughter Tracy (LeRoy) Charles, Florence; six grandchildren: ReAnn (Tripp) Hudson, Mankato MN; Jenna Wilson (Brendan Moseman), Bryson Mobley, Blake Mobley, and Brett Charles, all of Bozeman; and Kaleigh Charles, Great Falls; and one great granddaughter, Reygan Hudson. She is also survived by many loving family members.

Services will be held on Monday, July 17, at 11:00 am at Smith Funeral Chapel in Columbus MT. A reception and interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bunny’s name to Hospice Care Foundation, 715 Kensington Ave, Ste 2C, Missoula, MT 59801.
