Bennie Dale Bartlett, 86, of Missoula, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at his home of natural causes.
He was born on October 3, 1927 in Siebert, Colo., to Ben and Nellie Bartlett. As a young boy he grew up on an agricultural farm where they farmed corn, wheat, oats and more.
On January 6, 1952 he married Shirley May Simmons. The couple lived in Ft. Collins, Colo. They had two children, Duane and Renee. The couple moved to Missoula in 1976. Dale worked as a bricklayer for over 50 years. Dale and Shirley were happily married for over 62 years.
Dale was an active member of The First Christian Church. He loved to play pinochle, cribbage, and pool. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. Dale was a soft spoken man. He always had a smile on his face. Dale had a great sense of humor. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Nellie Bartlett, wife, Shirley May Bartlett, and grandson, Mitchell Gleason.
Survivors include; his son, Duane Bartlett, of Missoula, daughter, Renee (Dave) Gleason of Renton, Wash., grandchildren; Trista (Hamilton) Sledge, of Missoula, Travis Bartlett, Chelsea Gleason and Alayna Gleason, of Renton, Wash., great grandchildren, Kaden, Tatum, and Noah Sledge, of Missoula.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
