Ben E. Poat

Ben E. Poat passed away Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at his home in Superior. He was 84-years-old. Cause of death was cancer. Ben was born in Paducah, Kentucky, on Christmas Day 1929. He graduated from San Diego State with a bachelor's degree. He served four years in the Navy during the Korean War. Ben spent most of his working career working for the city of Superior. He spent his retirement years working on his ranch taking care of animals. Ben came from a family of nine. He has three sisters, Mary, Laureen and Anne and a brother Austin, who are already in heaven. He is survived by three sisters, Chris, Jeri and Geneva and a brother Leo.

His memorial service will be held at the St. Regis cemetery on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 2 p.m.
