Barbara Storrs of Lolo passed away on Sunday Jan 29th at Village Heath Care, due to complications from a stroke.
She was born Dec. 27, 1937 in Edgerton, Wyoming to Wren and Leona Lollar.
She was preceeded in death by her parents and brother Fred Lollar.
Survivors are son James (Kay) of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren Brittni also of Tucson, Marissa of Milwaukie Oregon. She is also survived by her longtime friends and caregivers Candis and Gary Nash and their family. Also many friends.
Barbara went to Natrona County high school and Casper College.
She moved to Missoula in 1972 and worked for the University of Montana food service until retirement in 2001.
At the time of retirement Barbara was ready to travel the United States and was looking forward to taking her Granddaughters with her on some of her journeys. Unfortunately Barbara suffered a massive stroke six months after retirement, she would fight her way back home and live by herself for several years until another stroke, she also broke her neck and with all of this she maintained her love of life. It was with the help of the Lolo community that she stayed comfortably in her home. The Lux family took great care of her lawn and flowers and others would plow snow and shovel walk ways.
Barbara enjoyed traveling to see her parents and other family at Holidays and Vacations. After her stroke left her unable to travel the Nash Family was honored to have her at our Holiday tables and other family functions.
She enjoyed traveling and arts and crafts. There was not a garage sale that she could drive by. Barbara was well known for her love of antiques and she had a large collection of many items but her most prized collection was depression glass and even had a special room added to her home to showcase these pieces. She had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh up to her final days. She had many friends and loved to go play and concerts at the U of M with many of them. Barbara was always honest and had no problem telling one her opinion.
Cremation has taken place at Garden City Funeral Home. At this time no services are planned. If anyone in interested in making a donation in Barbara's honor, the Human Society of Meals or Wheels are charity's that she used or made donations to herself.
