Missoula-Barbara "JoAnne" (Kolyck) Huetter jitterbugged her way into heaven on March 30, 2014 in Missoula. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Born in Great Falls on June 6, 1941 to Bill and Bernice Kolwyck, she was raised on the homestead outside Sun River and graduated from Simms High School in 1959. She was always known as "JoAnn" or "Jo" to those who knew and loved her. In 1960, she married B.L. "Buck" Richter; they later divorced. Jo moved to Priest River, Idaho in 1980 where she met Marvin Huetter. They returned to the Bitterroot Valley in 1983 where they lived until his passing in 2004.
A talented seamstress, Jo also loved dancing, singing, gardening, and her animals. She had an incredible green thumb and for many years raised test roses for Jackson & Perkins. A bookkeeper and tax preparer for many years, she worked in the fabric department at Walmart until the onset of her recent illness.
Jo is survived by her children Kelly (Rick Rolandson) Richter of Choteau, Mike (Donna) Richter of DeBorgia, Reese (Tonia Turner) Richter of Lolo, and Colleen (John "Red") Thomas of Great Falls; brother Pat (Linda) Kolwyck and sister Betty (Brian) Cagle of Great Falls; grandchildren Christopher, Travis, Christina, and Khevyn Richter and John Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews; and two special cousins, Dolly (Art) Kent of North Vancouver, British Columbia, and Bonnie (Dave) Behrens of Spokane Valley, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin, and her brother Bill.
