Augustine Minjares

Augustine Minjares wore out his body on March 17, 2025. Like most of us he would have liked to have lasted a little longer.

Gus lived a full life and because he tried to life it fully he made many mistakes. He would have like to apologize for those he has hurt through those mistakes and to thank all of those who have helped him. Especially, those who have let him love them.

Gus was born on December 15, 1938, in Sidney Montana. He was the second child of Augustine E. and Philomena C. Minjares. He attended St. Philomenas Parochial School and Sidney High School. He graduated from Carroll College in 1960 where he met his first wife Janice McAllister, the two were married in 1962.

Together they share five children, Mari Bergeson, Allison Minjares, Kimberlee Hendrickson, Sean Minjares, and Rory Minjares. In addition to these five children, Gus had a son Anthony Minjares. Anthony was born of his union with his second wife Ruth Wright. The couple had been wed in 1985.

Gus is survived by his wife Carol Minjares, the love of his life, whom he married in 1993. He is also survived by his children Mari (Monie) Bergeson, Kim (Dennis) Hendrickson, Rory (Renee) Minjares, Anthony (Chelsea) Minjares, Sean Minjares, and Allison Minjares.

Gus was preceded in death by his parents, Augustine Ermin Minjares and Philomena (Schan) Minjares; sister, Marylou Brese; and brother, Timothy Minjares.

He was surrounded by loved ones as he passed. His life was encompassed with love by an enormous loving family and many cherished friends.
