Arlene K. Zimmerman, 81, of Townsend, MT passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Benefis Health System Hospital in Great Falls, MT of natural causes.
She was born on June 28, 1939 in Elgin, ND to Erhardt and Kathyrene Straub. As a young girl she lived with her family on a farm and was educated in New Leipzig, ND Public Schools and graduated from New Leipzig High School.
On September 20, 1959 she married, the love of her life, Clifford Zimmerman in New Leipzig. Their first year of marriage the couple lived in Salt Lake City, UT, where they both worked at the same hospital. In 1960 the couple moved to Glendive, MT where she had various occupations, waitressing being her favorite. In 1994 the couple moved to Sidney, MT where she worked for their own business Cliff’s Sales and Service. In 2014 the couple re-located to Townsend, MT to be closer to their family.
She was a member of the Congregational Church. In her early years she enjoyed fishing, trips to Canada, traveling and going dancing with her husband Clifford, listening to country music and embroidery. In her later years she enjoyed doing puzzle books, spending time with her family and going on family vacations.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was grateful for having shared in her life, her husband of 61 years, Clifford; her sisters: Gloria, Judy, Janice; her brother Vernon; her children: Clifford, Chester, Cheryl (Rick) Brilz; her grandchildren: Jessica (Chad) Clouse, John (Shannon) Brilz, Michael (Caitlin) Brilz, Michelle (Shawn) Brilz-Brady, Mason (Laura) Zimmerman, Tabitha Zimmerman and nine great grandchildren.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents and her son Clifford.
A family service will be held.
