Annunziata "Nancy  D" Angelo

Annunziata "Nancy" D'Angelo, 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, surrounded by her family.

Nancy was born Dec. 19, 1934, in Pollena Trocchia, Italy, to Giacomo and Margarita Sanino-D'Angelo.

Nancy trained as a seamstress in Italy; at the age of 27 she married the absolute love of her life, Giacomo "Jack" D'Angelo and brought her talents to the U.S. While raising their two children, Nancy worked for several fashion houses, bringing a designer's vision to life.

Nancy was an excellent cook and loved preparing meals for her family. After moving to Montana in 1980, she and Jack decided to open an Italian restaurant in Plentywood. D'Angelo's Pizzeria was born. They eventually expanded their business to Missoula, owning and operating D'Angelo's Pizza in the University Center on the University of Montana campus where Nancy enjoyed visiting with the students, faculty and staff each day. In 1997, the Pizzeria was sold and "Nonni" spent the years since watching her grandchildren grow.

Nancy was predeceased in death by her loving husband of 46 years, as well as her parents; brothers, Pasquale, Domenico and Vincenzo; and her sister, Clara.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria (Mike) Bray; her son, Frank (Rae Lynn); grandchildren, Alec and Devin Bray and Lauren and Connor D'Angelo; brothers and sisters, Bianca, Assunta, Umberto, Vittorio, Antonio, Mario, Bruno, Franco, Elena and Anna Maria; and many nieces and nephews.

Our family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and medical staff from St. Patrick Hospital, the Village Health Care Center, Hillside Healthcare Center and Hospice of Missoula for taking wonderful care of her for the past several months.

A private family service is planned to celebrate her life.

Memorials may be sent to the Humane Society of Western Montana in Nancy's name. Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home.
