Andrea Renee Schlueter (Nee: Farlin)

After a valiant fight with cancer, our beautiful Andrea began her next journey in life, March 2, 2023, with family by her side. 

 

Andrea was born September 22, 1965, in Kalispell, Montana to Carole Oudenhoven (Farlin) and Wade Farlin. She graduated from Hellgate High School in 1984.  She attended the University of Montana for two years before going to work full time at One Hour Photo, where she met the love of her life Michael Schlueter.  They were married on June 29, 1985, and built their dream home in the Potomac area.  In 1987 Brandon was born followed by Jessica in 1991. 

 

In 2007 Andrea began work at Missoula County Public Schools, beginning at Russell Elementary.  She moved to Chief Charlo and then C. S. Porter, finally transferring to Sentinel High School in 2014 where at the time of her passing she was the Administrative Assistant to the Principal.  Andrea was indispensable, filling in wherever she was needed.  She worked at numerous sporting events, enrolled students in drivers' education, was the athletic secretary, volunteered as an exam proctor, served on the insurance committee, attended every graduation and many other duties too numerous to mention.  If you wanted to know something at Sentinel, Andrea knew the answer.  She rarely got mad but when she did, watch out. She was affectionately known as “the four foot of fury”. 

 

One of Andrea’s greatest assets was her love of people.  No one was a stranger for long; students, parents and co-workers all became friends.  They even called her at night and on the weekends. 

 

Andrea was preceded in death by her father Wade Farlin, father and mother-in-law Rudy and Donnie Schlueter, brother-in-law Ted Murphy and stepfather Ken Oudenhoven.  She is survived by her loving husband Mike Schlueter, son Brandon Schlueter, daughter Jessica Kostelecky (Kody), granddaughter Kaylee, mother Carole Oudenhoven, sister Wendy Robertson, stepsister Michele Flemming (Bill), brothers-in-law Nick Schlueter (Verna) and Scott Schlueter (Gladys), sister-in-law Lynn Murphy and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

 

A celebration of life and remembrance will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 12:00 pm at West Riverside Community Park, 1305 Haaglund Drive, Milltown, Montana, 59851.  Please bring a dish to share (pulled pork, rolls and beverages will be provided).  Those who wish to honor Andrea may make a donation to The American Cancer Society in her memory.
