Obituary for Alonzo Jesus Gomez

Alonzo Jesus "Al" Gomez, 75, of Deer Lodge, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at St. Patrick Hospital.

He was born May 13, 1940, in Mogote, Colorado, to Benancio and Floripa (Trujillo) Gomez. He was the eldest of 10 children.

Dad's ability to make people laugh was a true gift. He had a warm and welcoming way about him. We could always count on his quick wit to share a funny joke or story with a twinkle in his eyes. He loved to play his guitar and sing to all who would listen. He also had a great love for the outdoors, and enjoyed many camping and fishing trips with his children and grandchildren.

He loved his family dearly. He had a big, beautiful heart. This was evident in the love that everyone had for him. He had the most beautiful soul and he will be missed greatly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benancio and Floripa; brothers, Joseph and Chris; sister, Olive; and sons, Randy and Tony.

He is survived by his spouse, Tina Pierce of Deer Lodge; children, Theresa (Ike) Brown, Alonzo Gomez Jr., Damion (Jennifer) Gomez and Johnny (K.D.) Gomez, all of Rawlins, Wyoming, Gaynelle Martinez of Gillette, Wyoming, Jolene (Jason) Seitzinger of Deer Lodge and Victoria (Eric) Loessberg of Stevensville; and siblings, Gloria Marquez, Patricia Gomez and Arlene (John) Sandoval, all of Manassa, Colorado, Barbara (Ralph) Garcia of Rawlins, Ben (Linda) Gomez of Point of Rocks, Wyoming, and Sally (Mel) Schneider of Thermopolis, Wyoming. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other extended family.
