Missoula - On the morning of May 11th, 2018 Allan passed away at the age of 84 at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Missoula, Mt. He was born in Great Falls Montana on the 16th of November, 1933 to Edward Evans and Mary Christman.
Allan was the epitome of the generation he was born into: where personal responsibility, humble natures, strong work ethic, prudent saving, loyalty, commitment and sacrifice were what shaped their lives.
He was our rock. He left us with the greatest gift a man could give; values and memories. He taught his children that nothing was more important than family. He was up before the crack of dawn providing for his wife and kids, when gasoline was 29 cents/gallon, rent was $25.00/month and the memories he made were priceless. He was a giant of a man in our eyes. Nothing could erode his resolve to give us the idyllic childhood he never had. Family outings to the root beer stand, water fights on the lawn, and a rambunctious puppy named Murphy were only a few of the simple pleasures made great by a great man. He was my friend.
He loved his family and God above all else. It was the foundation on which he built his life. He believed that every task and every job deserved your best effort. As an employee of Community Creamery he won many trophies and ribbons for the best cottage cheese in the North West. His dedication and work ethic quickly propelled him into positions of responsibility wherever he worked. Dad retired from Stone Container where he was employed as a millwright. In retirement with his daughter Karyn, he founded two businesses, Work Force Employment Service and AniMeals No Kill Adoption Center and Animal Food Bank. A charity dedicated to promoting the welfare of the weakest and most helpless of God’s creatures. With this in mind, the family asks in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to: AniMeals, 1700 Rankin St, Missoula, MT 59808.
Throughout his life, our loving husband and father carried a twinkle in his eye. If you count the stars tonight there will undoubtedly be one more that will be the twinkle Allan carried in his eye.
He is survived by the love of his life, Barbara Evans, 2 sisters, 4 children, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a 23 year old cat.
In life we loved you dearly; in death we love you still. No one could ever take your place and no one ever will. Godspeed.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday the 18th of May at the LDS church at 3201 Bancroft St., Missoula Montana. A reception will follow. Entombment will follow the reception at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
