Alfred "Al" Barone, 75, of Missoula, passed away Nov. 1, 2014, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Alfred was born to the late Alfonse and Frances Barone on Oct. 4, 1939, in Bronx, New York. He was married to the late Linda Barone. Alfred was a longtime resident of Remsenburg, Long Island, New York, where his wife Linda and he raised their family. He was the CEO/founder of Strathmore Organization, one of Long Island's largest privately held building and construction companies.
Al had a love for life and an infectious passion for hunting and fishing, which took him traveling to various places across the globe. He was a world record holder for his Super Grand Slam of Wild Sheep and Mountain Goat. He was a supporter of many conservation associations and given the honor of 1988 Man of the Year for his dedication and fundraising support to the Cooley's Anemia Foundation.
Alfred is survived by his three daughters, Allyson Scerri (Steve), Andrea Johnston and Aimee White (Steve); seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Jessica, Allyn, Linda, Brandon, Alexa and Amanda; and his sisters, Adele and Pamela.
A service was held in Missoula on Nov. 4 at St. Francis Xavier Church. A service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at Immaculate Conception Church in Quiogue, Long Island.
