Alex G. Polakow

Alex G. Polakow, 99, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Riverside Health Care Center.

He was born Feb. 22, 1915, in Krakow, Poland, to Gregor and Paulina Polakow. On Nov. 3, 1946, he married Hedy Hafner. Alex came to the United States with his wife and two sons in 1950. His wife passed away in August 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

He spent the Past several years with his friends at the Museum of Mountain Flying.

Survivors include three sons, Alex, Gary (Vickie) and Hal Polakow; daughter, Marian (Bob) Salo; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
