The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Vivian Brooke can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

A Port in the Storm

During many turbulant times in my life, Vivian was there.  She, Joe and the kids were my surrogate family taking me to Big Sky for many ski vacations where we would ski down KIWWEEEFUUUR ! !   When the "Gay Rights" house bill was voted down for the last time n the 1994 Montana State Legislature I was living in Helena at the time.  It was a very emotionally chared issue for many of us.   I made a temporary grave marker and placed it  with the pink triangle emblem on her desk at the house chambers with it's date of birth and death. She fought tirelessly for all of Montana, even joing the Easter Vigil's at Montana Missile Silo's.  One of her battle crys to me when she was at an all out war in the legislature was "What about the PEOPLE?"  She was also  such a great asset to the Brooke family doing many months of research to produce "The Brooke Book".  This document of our heritage will be treasured for many generations to come.  All the research that she did was prior to invention of the internet.
